Microsoft previously revealed that background music support for Xbox One would arrive this summer. Finally, we have a date for this new feature’s arrival. Xbox One background music support will make its way onto the Xbox One on August 2nd.

Xbox-Background-Music

According to Microsoft, this feature is part of the upcoming Windows 10 Anniversary Update that brings a lot of new features to the Xbox One and the Xbox app for Windows 10 as well.

Xbox One Background Music and Much More

Apart from the background music, users will be able to set different languages for their consoles regardless of their region; Cortana will also make her appearance with the anniversary update. You will be able to use Cortana voice commands with your Xbox One headset as well so no need for Kinect at all if you only want to use voice commands.

The new unified Xbox store will be available on both Xbox One and Windows 10 offering all the Xbox Play Anywhere titles for both Xbox One and PC gamers. Gamers only have to buy the game once, and it will be playable on both platforms under the Xbox Play Anywhere program.

This is going to be one of the biggest updates for the Xbox One since it brings most of the features that the community has been asking. Let’s wait and see how Microsoft implements all these features on August 2nd.
